Enterpreneurship Development

In our effort to help the B40 community break out of the poverty cycle, we work with the Government of Malaysia through East Coast Economic Region (ECER) and Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) to provide skills and entrepreneurship training to empower them with knowledge and skills to realise their potential and achieve financial independence.

Some of the skills training programmes carried out include Makeup & Artistry, Fashion & Sewing, Scaffolding, ICT, Frozen Food Processing, Hair Dressing, Spa Therapy, Agriculture, Electrical Appliance Repair etc.

This program help generate a more steady income through sales of their products and services. Participants are required to formalize the business and sit through a session on basic accounting which covered documenting daily cash flow, categorizing expenses, preparing invoices as well as profit and loss statements.

The overall aim of this programme is to empower participants to take that brave step away from the B40 categorisation and be empowered to stand independently on their own feet. Thousands of new micro enterprises have been created. This has resulted in tangible impact in the local economy by raising the household income of the B40.
