Orang Asli community from Kelantan, Pahang and Kedah benefited from the Human Capital Development programs conducted, consisting of Academic Training programme for underperforming students from poor families, and Skills and Entrepreneurship Training programme for underprivileged youths and adults.
To ensure literacy among the OA children, as tremendous focus in given to the 3M concept, i.e. ‘Membaca’, ‘Menulis’, and ‘’Mengira’. The focus on reading, spelling, writing, counting and critical thinking would provide a child with necessary skills needed to continue towards higher education.
For the Orang Asli communities, the approach towards livelihood programmes for community development involves capitalizing on their inherent skills such as farming, crop cultivation and handicraft.
The outcome of this program reflected in the improved education levels and higher literacy rate among Orang Asli students as well as the creation of new micro and small entrepreneurs from the Orang Asli community.
